Icasa chairperson to be removed after conviction

Parliament’s Portfolio Committee on Communications announced on Tuesday that it would institute a process to remove Rubben Mohlaloga as a member and chairperson of the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (Icasa). Mohlaloga, who was appointed chairperson of Icasa in December 2017, was found guilty of fraud and money laundering in the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court in January.
